Julia Carr, PCA

Julia Carr, PCA

I am a mental health counselor with over six years of professional experience working in therapeutic spaces. My background is in school counseling and I am excited to bring my work to the clinical setting where I offer counseling to youth ages 8+ as well as adult populations.

I work with clients to address issues related to anxiety, depression, hopelessness, self-esteem, stress, identity, trauma, ADHD, school-related issues, parenting, grief, aging, relationship/social issues, and life transitions. I operate from a family systems, trauma, and culturally- informed lens and welcome individuals of all backgrounds and identities.

My approach in counseling is warm, strengths-based, person-centered, and deeply collaborative. My aim is to create a comfortable and trusting space for those that I work with to explore behavioral and emotional issues, deepen self-compassion and awareness, and develop effective coping skills. I believe that we all possess great strengths within us to grow and heal and that people of all ages deserve compassionate mental health care and to live a joyful and meaningful life.

Outside of work, I enjoy growing a vegetable garden, cooking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family (preferably outdoors over a shared meal).

*Julia is a professional counselor associate in the state of Oregon under the supervision of Jennifer Pitt, LMFT.
