When: Tuesdays at 3:00 pm or Thursdays at 9:00 am (Will run for 10-week intervals) Start Date: To be determined.

Where:  Virtual (Telehealth)

Who: Patricio Harkness, LPC

Seeking Safety is designed for people with substance abuse and/or trauma. “Trauma” means that a person has suffered a severe life event, such as physical or sexual abuse, a car accident, or a hurricane. Many people who abuse substances have experienced a trauma during their lifetime. Each topic will focus on a specific strategy to help you cope with trauma or substance abuse. Examples of topics are Honesty; Asking for Help; Setting Boundaries in Relationships; Taking Good Care of Yourself; and Compassion.

Important: This group is a psychoeducation and skills-building group, not a processing group. Details of past trauma can trigger others with similar experiences; the aim will be to talk about the impact of your trauma on your current life instead.
