Dunya Cope, LPC

Wherever you are in your life journey, I'm here to partner with you in exploring what you truly want for yourself, what is getting in the way of that, and how to take steps towards a life aligned with your values. Your whole self is welcome in the therapy room as we practice finding authenticity, safety, and belonging. I love to offer reflections, questions, kind challenges, and experiential practice as you explore your curiosities and challenges on the path of growth.

I am an LPC in both Arizona and Oregon. I graduated with an MA in Counseling from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff in 2015, and since then have worked in settings ranging from child and family community work, to crime victim services, to private practice. Before graduate school I also worked at migrant and domestic violence shelters. I've found that in addition to working with a range of mental health concerns, I love supporting resilience in this political climate, sexual healing after trauma, exploration of desires and boundaries, and building the relational skills that so many of us are not taught, so that we can build the world that we need. I have in-depth training in Somatic Experiencing (since 2018) and the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) for treating developmental trauma (2019), and incorporate a range of other modalities to help you explore your inner world, and how you show up in the world, through a lens of curiosity and compassion.

Areas of speciality: Developmental, complex, and other trauma, sexuality and intimacy issues, LGBTQIA, gender affirming care, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, grief, stress and current events, neurodivergence affirming, kink and non-monogamy affirming

I moved to Portland in 2026 after spending the past 20 years in the Southwest, and I enjoy exploring all the greenery and water the region has to offer, playing roller derby, various forms of dance, witchy stuff, and reading.

CHOOSE YOU.
