Amanda Bueffel, LMFT
(18+) Gladstone/Virtual

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in the state of Oregon. I obtained my Master’s in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon in 2022.
I believe that therapy is a safe space for you to process and achieve self-growth in ways that fit who you are as a person and utilize the wisdom you already have within yourself. To me, problems both influence and are influenced by our surrounding systems (e.g. family, friends, work) and by our larger environments. For that reason, I believe it is important to collaboratively address these factors, your emotions, and your coping strategies to achieve change.
My theoretical foundation is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy, though I draw on work from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Gottman approaches as well. I encourage clients to explore their emotions and stories about their lives, with the hopes of finding a new story that might help them navigate their lives more effectively. I also work with clients to express their needs and emotions with their partners, friends, family members, and more in ways that feel true to themselves. Above all, I believe that everyone has abilities and strengths that can help them address their unique needs and goals.
I am especially passionate about working with couples/intimate partners experiencing relationship conflict, including partnerships navigating neurodivergence. I work with individual adults in navigating anxiety, depression, complex PTSD, family/relational conflicts, over-functioning, grief, and life transitions. I am LGBTQIA2S+ and poly/kink affirming. I strive towards cultural humility in all aspects of my work and welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities.
Outside of work, I love playing board games (or really games of any kind), reading Sci-Fi and Fantasy, writing, listening to live music, hiking, and spending time with my animals.
